Besides having heard of Multiple Sclerosis, often referred to as MS, how much do you know about the disease? There are a few people I’ve met in my life with this disabling disease and they are among the strongest people I know. My friend, Paul, whom I’ve known since high school, is one of the 2.1 million people worldwide who lives with MS, having lived with it for the past 13 years. He’s been kind enough to share with me what life with MS is like for him.
Colon cancer is a disease that is top of mind for my family right now. Just this past December, my 82-year-old great-aunt was diagnosed with colon cancer. In her situation, the cancer is terminal, but that doesn’t have to be the case for everyone. Take a minute or two during Colon Cancer Awareness Month to know the symptoms and the early detection procedures, mainly the colonoscopy.

This past fall, Halloween arrived at my house a few weeks early. Why you may ask? Well, because I was showcasing two scars that even Frankenstein’s monster would be jealous of. But as horrible as my scars may be, I cannot help but be thankful for them every time I catch a glimpse of them in the mirror.
These scars aren’t just any scars. They mark my victory over skin cancer.

The tragic school shooting in Newtown, CT has sent a shock wave through our country. While this story is, unfortunately, not a new one, it has struck the hearts of Americans in such a strong way that we all want to do something, anything, to remember and help spread healing and change.
We’ve heard from so many across the USA asking what they can do to show their support for this New England community and spread the word about ending such horrendous violence. For us at SupportStore, the past week has been humbling as we work with those from the Newtown community in putting together a way to honor and remember those who are no longer with us.
