Love Your Heart During Heart Awareness Month
Here’s your interesting tidbit for the day. February has been American Heart Month since 1963. Over the past 48 years, we’ve learned a lot about the heart and preventing heart disease, but we still have a long way to go.
The American Heart Association states that “Cardiovascular diseases, including stroke, are our nation’s No. 1 killer.”
The Centers for Disease Control says that “the term ‘heart disease’ refers to several types of heart conditions. The most common type in the United States is coronary artery disease, which can cause heart attack, angina, heart failure, and arrhythmias.”
Living a healthy lifestyle is important to keeping your heart healthy. Things like eating well, being active, not smoking, and managing stress can help your heart be healthier.
This February, especially on February 4th which is National Wear Red Day, by wearing the color red, you’ll spread awareness about heart health and show others how important this cause is to you.
