October 2020 Cause Awareness Schedule & News

Autumn vibes are in the air with October as we prepare for cooler weather, social distancing, and a much different Halloween this year. We’re adapting to it all, though, and getting creative along the way! And as always, we are here to help you spread the word about your favorite causes during your virtual and socially distant events.

While Breast Cancer Awareness is the most commonly recognized October cause, there are several others as well. Redeem Your Cash for Breast Cancer Awareness Month

Find the Cure Pink Rubber Wristbands

The pink awareness ribbon has become synonymous with Breast Cancer Awareness and brings with it love and support to the estimated 220,000 women and 2,600 men who are diagnosed with it each year. While the numbers continue to be high and breast cancer continues to be the second leading cause of death among women, the survival rates also continue to climb. More than 2.9 million cancer survivors are living today, and that is thanks to increased awareness, continued research, and incredible amounts of support from friends and family.

Your SupportStore purchases not only help you shout out what you care about, but also allow you to collect Cash for Causes points that can be redeemed for donations to the American Cancer Society during Breast Cancer Awareness Month as well as other selected organizations.

Plan for November’s Alzheimer’s Disease Awareness Month

alzheimer's disease awareness wristbandEvery 65 seconds, someone in America develops Alzheimer’s disease and more than 5 million Americans are living with this condition every day. The Alzheimer’s Association projects that, by 2050, this number could rise to nearly 14 million, showing now more than ever the importance of awareness and research. It not only takes a toll on the patient but also the more than 16 million caregivers who spend billions of hours each year caring for their loved ones. This November, help give a voice to Alzheimer’s Disease Awareness and urge doctors and researchers to find a cure.

This Month’s Shout Out: 0.0 I Don’t Run Oval Magnet

USA Flag DecalI bought a 13.1 magnet for myself after I ran my second half marathon. I took a picture of it and sent it to my mom because I was so proud of myself! She responded with, “I’m looking for a 0.0 but haven’t found one yet. LOL” I knew that I had to find one for her, and I did! I can’t wait to hear what she thinks of it! I bought extras for friends who hate running — I think it’s hilarious!
