Remembering a Man with a Dream
Today is Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, the day dedicated to remember this man of faith who made the civil rights movement a big part of his life’s work.
Much of Dr. King’s message for equality can be applied to many different causes today. Whether it’s a person in a different economic class or someone with a health condition, no one deserves to be treated unequally or unfairly. One of my favorite Martin Luther King, Jr. quotes is this:
“Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere.”
It is as true today as when he first spoke it almost decades ago.Â
So if nothing else, please use this day to refelct on how you treat others. Mom’s old advice of “if you can’t say something nice, don’t say anything at all,” and the ever important Golden Rule of “treat others as you would want to be treated” are things we should stick to following.
